Childhood Dreams

Randy Paush did a last lecture about his childhood dreams. Randy had a terminal disease and his story is a very moving one. Thinking about my dreams I was able to come up with a few ideas:
1.Playing Major League Baseball
2.Being successful at something
3.Marrying my high school sweetheart
Obviously I did not make the major leagues. However, I continue to have a love for the game. I also with limited talent was able to play at the Little League level (an All Star), Babe Ruth level, High School level and Division 3 College level. I also coached at the Little League, Babe Ruth and college levels. I learned a great deal about people and how one approaches situations to make them better through my playing and coaching. This has been very helpful in my #2 goal of being successful at something. I am very proud of my work in education. I have had the honor of being a classroom teacher for 17+ years, an Asst Principal for 8 years and a Principal of 3 building for 17 years.
My third goal (most important) came back to me in February of 1976 when I had a chance meeting with Linda. This meeting eventually led to our marriage 1977 and my becoming a father to Kelley and Aaron and then Ashley. I have been truly blessed!
